Five Perks of Following Your Dentist on Social Media

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tiktok are all social media apps we find ourselves, and our teens, browsing throughout the day. These social media platforms provide easy access to our friends, family members and even celebrities we follow. These platforms are also a practical way for patients to connect and stay up to date with their dentist! Dr. Hayley and the SBCD Children's Dentistry staff want you to stay in the know with office happenings and updates.

So why should you follow your dentist on social media? Are there really any perks, or should you just visit the SBCD Children's Dentistry website to stay up to date on the latest and greatest updates? Here are the Five Perks of Following your Dentist on Social Media:

1. Get to know our staff better and stay up to date on their achievements

At SBCD Children's Dentistry, we love showcasing our team members on social media. From new achievements to birthday celebrations, we want our patients to feel like they are a part of the family, and one way we can do that is by sharing monumental moments from our team! When our patients get the opportunity to see posts about their hygienist, dentist, front office staff, and the rest of our team, it helps them relate to each staff member and feel more comfortable during their appointments. Our main goal is making sure each and every patient feels right at home when they walk into our office, and that starts with the Instagram photo you see, or the Facebook post you read. Following us on social media is a great way to get to know our team and stay up to date with what they are doing, even when you’re not in the office with us!

2. See patient transformations through before and after photos

One way we love to show off our patient transformations is by showcasing their before and after photos on our social media platforms. Following us on social media allows our future patients to view the final results of dental treatments and to determine if that treatment is right for them! We want to allow our patients to see our work, because seeing someone else’s before and after photos will only give you more confidence in your own treatment journey!

Another reason why we love before and after photos is because they really help to ease treatment anxiety for patients nervous about their upcoming appointment or treatment process. We have found our patients have a decrease in their dental anxiety if they are able to view before and after photos of another patient who received similar treatment. Sometimes that post-treatment photo provides solid proof to our patients that a specific treatment is right for them! Our patients love the accomplished feeling they get when their before and after photos are posted on our social media, too! Spotlighting our patients and their treatment journey really shows off the skills of our team members while showcasing how awesome each of our patients look with their new smiles!

3. Get instant updates on office schedules

Have you ever showed up to the SBCD Children's Dentistry office only to learn we are closed due to weather, power issues or because of a new schedule? Well, social media is a great way for us to keep our patients updated on any office closings or opening delays. We try our best to keep all of our patients in the know, so we make sure to regularly update any schedule abnormalities on our social media platforms. We know how often our patients view our Facebook and Instagram pages, so we know it is the easiest and fastest way to stay in touch and to keep our patients informed.

4. Read updates on new technology and treatment methods

The dental world is fast-paced and ever changing, and we take pride in staying up to date on the latest treatment methods and newest technology trends. Our office likes to feature any technology and treatment method updates on our social media, because it provides our patients with instant knowledge on a new treatment option that just might benefit them. In this industry, we strive to provide the most efficient and fastest treatment possible, and we want our patients to stay up to date on our processes so they know they are receiving top notch service!

5. Follow and participate in office contests

Providing a fun and interactive environment for each of our patients is really important to us, and one way we love to do that is through office contests. We love getting to highlight office contests on our social media platforms because we believe it allows our patients to really understand the atmosphere and vibe of our office. Office contests also provide a creative and unique way for our patients to interact with the team at SBCD Children's Dentistry.

Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to stay connected with the SBCD Children's Dentistry team. Call our office today to schedule your free consultation appointment and start your orthodontic journey with Dr. Hayley, today!
